Ice hockey is a winter sport played on an ice rink between two teams of six players on skates professionally. Ice hockey has frequently been the most popular sport among fans for a long time. Many ice hockey leagues have been created in the past, and one of these leagues operating in North America was the Central Hockey League. Let's learn more about the CHL Hockey - (Central Hockey League)

History

From 1992 until 2014, the Central Hockey League was a mid-level minor hockey professional club in North America. Ray Miron and Bill Levins, both hockey players, formed the Central Hockey League. When Bill Levins died, the champions' trophy, presented to the CHL playoff winner, was renamed Levin's cup. However, Ray Miron afterward dubbed the Levins cup as the President's cup.

Miron oversaw the league for eight years before retiring and selling it to Global Entertainment Corporation. The Global Entertainment Corporation then ran the league from 2000 to 2013. After that, each club owner bought out the league.

After experimenting with expansions, the CHL chose to join the Western Professional Hockey League in 2001. The Canadian Hockey League came to an end in 2014. The Allen Americans were the league's most recent champions.

A Look at the CHL Hockey - Central League

As previously mentioned, the CHL hockey league was a North American mid-level professional ice hockey league. As the National Hockey League's season came to a close in 2014, 3 of its 30 teams had an affiliation with the Central Hockey League.

Unfortunately for the nine clubs, two folded during the 2014 season, and the remaining seven were absorbed by the ECHL, thus ending the CHL after 22 seasons.

Before they were canceled in 2014, the CHL playoffs were usually well-attended and considered one of the best ice hockey games.
