For the first time in three years, the Big Ears Music Festival returns to Knoxville, Tennessee, March 24-27, 2022. With over 100 concerts from different genres, the festival will have more than 12 venues and feature films, exhibitions and lectures, workshops, parties and surprises.
Headliners include Kim Gordon, Animal Collective, Yves Tumor, Low, John Zorn, Sparks, Meredith Monk, Moses Sumney and Annette Peacock.
Two major concert events are planned for the expected festival. The composer and instrumentalist John Zorn will give eight concerts during the four-day festival with 14 employees on stage, including Bill Frisell, Stephen Gosling and Kenny Grohowski. A tribute to the New Orleans music world, rooted in Haitian and Cuban sounds, will mark the first time Big Ears celebrates the heritage and global impact of music. The Krewe Du Kanaval event is curated by Ben Jaffe from Preservation Hall.
Tickets for the festival will go on sale September 16 at 12:00 PM EST. Fans can buy passes on the festival website.
